Andha Galchi is a gorge located in Dhawalāgiri Zone, Western Region, Nepal. The elevation above sea level is 2000 metres.

Rupse Waterfall

Rupse Waterfall is one of the most beautiful natural waterfall in Nepal. It is located in Myagdi District on the Beni-Jomsom highway at the place called Dana VDC. Rupse has a height of 300 metres and it is 110 km far from Pokhara or about 48 km either from Jomsom, Mustang or from Beni, Myagdi. The Rupse Fall is a popular tourist destination, receiving 1,50,000 tourists annually.

The waterfall is an incredible sight and the closer you get, the more you can feel the power of the water. There is a walking hike to reach the upper part of falls, which is also great. A must-stop location and most picturesque spot on the way to Jomsom.

How To Reach ‘Rupse Waterfall’?

To reach Rupse Falls, you’ll need to travel about 110 kilometers from Pokhara and 40.8 kilometers from Jomson. It’s located right on the Beni-Jomsom Highway route, and very close to Kali Gandaki Gorge — the deepest gorge in the world.

MYAGDI: Just in — A new trekking route has been constructed in Myagdi district that links Andha Galchi, Rupse Waterfall and Baja Dhunga Cave. The route, which has been built with railings, starts from Kavre Gaun near Andha Galchi (one of the deepest gorges in the world) and goes via Rupse waterfall to Baja Dunga Cave. It was constructed at the grant of Annapurna Rural Municipality.

Lal Bahadur Pun, ward member of Annapurna rural municipality-3, said that a viewpoint was also built at the cliff for the visitors to soak up the panoramic view of the locality.

The newly built trekking route in Myagdi is expected to make it easier for visitors to access Andha Galchi, Rupse waterfall and Baja Dunga. The trail, which is around one kilometer in length, also aims to attract trekkers who are going to or returning from Mustang district. It takes roughly 30 minutes to reach Baja Dhunga Cave from Kavre Village on foot.

The Annapurna rural municipality has allocated Rs 2 million for the construction of the trekking trail, which was completed with the help of voluntary labour worth Rs 219,478 from locals. Consumer Committee Chairperson Sunil Paija shared that the locals were very enthusiastic about the project and were happy to help out.
